The Center for Drug Discovery at Northeastern University is dedicated to designing and discovering novel medications, developing technologies, and training scientists in the multidisciplinary field of drug discovery. We are recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Associate with expertise in protein-based mass spectrometry and /or proteomics. The appropriate candidate will work toward elucidating the physiological role of the endocannabinoid system and studying the functional roles of the proteins involved in its modulation, yielding productive research that makes a significant contribution to the field as evidenced by publications in leading journals, successful grant applications and presentations at leading biomedical meetings.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include: planning and conducting independent research under the supervision of the Center director; critically analyzing, interpreting, recording, and presenting the resulting data internally and extramurally; contributing to the Center’s overall research plan and its successful progress; actively participating in internal group meetings; and keeping up-to-date with latest research findings and applying this knowledge to meet project objectives and challenges…
Qualifications
Required qualifications include a Ph.D. (or equivalent degree) with a concentration in applied protein-based mass spectrometry. Prior research experience with the cannabinoid field and experience with modern quantitative techniques in chemistry and biology would be a plus. Accomplished oral, written and interpersonal communication skills are necessary.
